I can’t believe I’m about to write these words: I’m closing the doors! Closing the doors on my incredible 23-year journey!

Let me take you on a little trip down memory lane…

It’s the year 2000, the world was a much simpler place. The internet was picking up pace, mobile phones were quite basic, and the buzz of social media was nowhere to be heard. Fax machines were the in-thing and emails were still not a thing (yes I had several clients that didn’t have an email).

March 2000, my mom introduced me to a website frequented by administrative assistants and secretaries. It was a hub where people could order office supplies, engage in forums (anyone remember these?), and even followed a soap opera. This was my gateway to the exciting world of Virtual Assistance!

With curiosity, I spent several months researcing into understanding this new concept. I was eager to understand and figure how I could make my mark in it. With support from my husband and a $100 in my pocket, I embarked on this exciting journey, purchased a fax machine and got a business license.

June 30, 2000, marked the beginning of my Virtual Assistant business. I secured a domain (, found a hosting service, and created my first website using MS Frontpage.  It became real!

By September of the same year, I attended my first networking meeting with local entrepreneurs, thanks to a wonderful acquaintance. My services were a fresh concept, sparking interest and curiosity among the women. Soon, I was on a roll, acquiring one client after another and loving every moment of it!

In those initial days, I was more like a traveling in-house assistant, moving from one client to the next, infusing energy and efficiency into their operations. It was hectic yet fulfilling!

As time flew by, the digital landscape evolved. Facebook emerged, followed by Twitter and Pinterest and eventually Instagram, bringing a wave of opportunities and growth for my business.

2006 was a pivotal year, a time of contemplation and expansion. I ventured into WordPress website design (MS Frontpage was no longer available) and social media management, extending my reach beyond the local clientele. The growth was phenomenal!

By 2015, I had transitioned to a full-time virtual assistant, embracing the freedom and versatility of an online business model. I could assist multiple clients simultaneously; a move I wished I had embraced sooner!

Now, here we are, 2023, I stand at another significant milestone. It’s been a journey of immense growth, technological advancements, and forging connections beyond geographical boundaries. The Virtual Assistant industry has skyrocketed to international acclaim, and I have cherished every moment of being a part of this dynamic evolution.
